Jerk Music Productions: PROMOTIONAL FLAT RATES

I'm Cody Smith, owner and operator of the recording studio located in Burlington, North Carolina. I have been recording music for several years and after much planning and deliberation, have opened a professional studio which I run out of my house. The goal of Jerk Productions is to provide quality recordings at affordable rates to musicians of all levels and genres. From Punk Rock to Hip-Hop, Classical to Country, Metal to Mellow, amateur to pro and everything in-between. Whether your goal is to make a CD for fun or one you can sell at your gigs, have something to show your perspective labels or record a full length album, I can help. Since opening I have had the opportunity to work with some great artist. As you can see from the rate chart, my prices are extremely low. These rates are modified from my original promotional rates. I like offering flat rates (as opposed to hourly rates) because good music is never created in a rush. I plan on keeping the flat rates going for as long as I can. When I was 15 years old and in my first band, (nothing you've heard of) we busted our chops to save up $400 to record a five song demo. They set up some room mics and we recorded our songs live. What we got for our hard earned 400 beans was an un-mixed, un-mastered tape, this was B.C.D. (before CD), that we could have done at home with a tape recorder. Much has changed in the industry but the attitude of big recording studios has not. Unless you're willing to pay big bucks, they are not going to take the time or put much effort into giving you something you can be proud of. It is this that motivates me and shapes my ethics in regards to this business. I am excited to be working with the musicians of North Carolina.
